The purpose of Crochet Club is to provide an outlet for creative students to explore new opportunities and support a cause. The club plans to teach crochet fundamentals to its members and work towards creating scarves, hats, mittens, stuffed animals, and more to donate at the end of each semester. We also want to host craft fairs to allow anyone on campus who creates things, whether it’s crochet, photography, or paintings, to sell their items and pocket their profit, only paying a small booth fee to Crochet Club to simulate what a craft fair in the real world looks like.

The Franklin College Department of English and Creative Writing is committed to the careful study of the individual expression and cultural values found in English, American, and world literature.

The department is one of Franklin College’s most exciting intellectual communities. Our faculty of dedicated teacher-scholars share with students their expertise in, and enthusiasm for, literature from a variety of genres, periods, and cultures—works drawn from the traditional canon to the works of emerging artists, from Greek tragedy to graphic novels, from Shakespearean sonnets to postmodern poetry. Small class sizes mean professors get to know their students and can engage with them in intense debates and deep analyses of literary works that continue outside the classroom.

Our dedicated faculty of practicing writers and scholars guide students in small classes and workshops that cover a variety of genres, as well as provide students with frequent out-of-class opportunities to exercise and hone their craft. Creative writing students can expect a rigorous yet collegial environment that allows for engaged learning, collaboration and experimentation.

Kappa Delta Rho stands as a monument to the dream of our ten founders in their quest for developing educated gentlemen who promote human dignity, positive relationships among men, and moral excellence of the highest ideals.
Kappa Delta Rho was founded on May 17, 1905 at Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. Since then we have grown to 25,000+ initiated members and have 37 active chapters across the country. These individuals have accepted the challenge of Kappa Delta Rho to strive to place Honor Above All Things in their daily lives by:

- Embracing the principles and spirit of the Kappa Delta Rho Gentleman, treating all those they encounter with dignity and respect;
- Working diligently in the pursuit of their education, understanding that they are students first and that the quest for knowledge is an endeavor which lasts a lifetime;
- Meeting all of their obligations to the Fraternity in a timely manner, as to ensure that they are doing their share and they are not a burden to their brothers;
- Engaging in the service of mankind, not for the praise or recognition that such service may bring, but because it is the right thing to do,
- Serving as their brother’s keeper, holding one another accountable for their actions; and

The commitment to Kappa Delta Rho does not end when an undergraduate brother graduates.
